Always remember, new menu options aren’t initially available to any of your Capstone users. Users can be given access to new menu options via the Manage Users and Manage User Groups programs.
Also keep in mind that, when a user permission such as “Allowed to delete a sales order line?” shown below is added, for all Capstone users, the response will be set to the value that will maintain the status quo. Note that the Manage Permissions screen shown below is accessed via the Manage Users and Manage User Groups programs.
A new field called “Account Type” has been added to the bottom of the Manage General Ledger Accounts screen. This allows you to identify each general ledger account as an Asset, Liability, Equity, Income, or Expense type account.
The GL Date field on the Enter/Edit Vendor Credits screen has been renamed “Transaction Date” and will now default to the Vendor Invoice Date. Previously, the Vendor Invoice Date defaulted to the GL Date.
A new button labeled “Email Sales Receipt” has been added to the Enter/Edit Sales Transactions program’s Documents screen.
The Cash Payments export has been modified to not require you to enter a payment date range.
An Options button has been added to the Manage Customer References screen. The buttons labeled “Drawing-Related Files” and “CTQ” have been removed but are still listed on the Options menu.
The Manage Sales Default Notes program can now be accessed directly from the Manage Customer References program. This option is listed on the Manage Customer References program’s Options menu as “Manage sales default notes”.
For Microsoft Windows users, the keyboard shortcut “Shift+Ctrl+F1” has been disabled. This shortcut previously opened a new instance of Capstone. To open a new instance of Capstone, double-click the Capstone desktop icon.
The Packing List Tag Detail screen, which is accessed via the Fulfill Sales Orders program’s Generate Sales Order Shipment screen, has been renamed “Shipment Tag Detail”.
Inventory can now be pulled directly via the Enter/Edit Sales Transactions program’s Line Detail screen. This option, which is only available after the order has been saved, appears on the Options menu as “Pull inventory”.
The “Sort Order” field has been removed from the Sales Orders export.
The Enter/Edit Sales Transactions program’s Copy function is now supported when one or more lines are on file for the transaction.
As shown below, a new button labeled “Set to Primary” has been added to the Add Inventory screen. This button will set the warehouse location to the applicable primary pull location. (Primary pull locations are defined via the Manage Items screen and, for items that track standard sizes, via the Standard Sizes screen which is accessed via the Manage Items screen.
When adding a “Buyout Sales Order” line to a purchase order, you will be asked if you want to set the material unit cost of the purchase order line to the unit cost of the applicable sales order line. In the example below, a Yes response will set the material unit cost of the purchase order line to $75.00/cwt.
As shown below, a new screen called “Price Detail” can now be accessed via the [Price Detail] button at the bottom of the Customer Pricing History Inquiry screen.
The Item Summary screen, which is accessed via many different programs, now displays a thumbnail picture of the item. If you double-click the thumbnail, the full-size version of the picture will be displayed. (Pictures are associated with items via the Manage Items program.)
As shown below, a rough estimate of the cost of delivery (based on the delivery revenue schedule defined for the applicable warehouse) is now displayed on the Enter/Edit Sales Transactions program’s Line Detail screen.
A new menu option called “Preview/Print Processing & Transportation Orders” will display a list of processing and/or transportation orders for a specified sales order or work order.
The property labeled “Display customer’s sales tax resale/exemption certificate number on customer-facing documents?” shown below has been added to the Manage System Properties program’s Documents tab.
The property labeled “Display sales tax detail on customer-facing documents?” shown below has been added to the Manage System Properties program’s Documents tab.
Columns labeled “Base Price” and “Base Price Margin %” have been added to the Sales Order Lines export.
The name of the Enter/Edit Standard PO Receipts program has been changed to “Enter/Edit Purchase Order Receipts” and the Enter Non-Inventory PO Receipts program has been removed. (The Enter/Edit Purchase Order Receipts program supports non-inventory items.)
A field labeled “Input Brief Item Description” has been added to the Enter/Edit Work Orders screen.
As shown below, a new property labeled “Default test report to deliver” has been added to the Manage System Properties program’s Customer tab. The test report selected here will be the default setting for new customers.
When entering or editing standard sizes via the Manage Items program or the Generate Standard Sizes program, the manufacturing tolerance values have been adjusted to allow for a maximum of 99.999999”. Previously, the maximum value was 9.999999”.
