Customer Lookup

The field is labeled “Include status(es)” with checkboxes labeled “Active”, “Prospect”, and “Retired”.

Sales Rep Lookup
The status of the highlighted rep (Active or Retired) is displayed in the footer section of this screen. When selecting the rep to associate with a new sales transaction, the lookup will, by default, list only active reps. The F9 key will allow you to specify which reps should be listed. The field is labeled “Include status(es)” with checkboxes labeled “Active” and “Retired”.

Purchase Orders-> Processing-> Enter Purchase Orders
When focus moves to the Vendor Contact prompt, the Vendor Contacts screen is automatically displayed, allowing you to select a contact. The contact’s core contact information, including his or her email address and phone number are copied into the purchase order header record. To edit the contact’s email address or phone number, press Shift+F3, and the screen shown below will be displayed.

If the Ship Method is set to either “Will Call” or “Direct”, when you are prompted for Customer ID, you can no longer select a customer with a status of “Prospect” or “Retired”.

Both programs now allow notes to be added to the credit memo. The functionality mirrors the notes capability for sales orders. Notes entered will print based on the type of note and document being printed. For example, notes designed as “internal” in nature will only print on the credit memo pickup document.

A new prompt labeled “Edit vendor contacts?” has been added to the User Properties screen. This prompt controls whether or not the user will be able to add a new vendor contacts and delete or edit an existing vendor contact when the user accesses the Vendor Contacts screen from either the Accounts Payable module’s Master Files menu or via Vendor Maintenance. The setting of this new property will have no impact when the user accesses the Vendor Contacts screen from the Enter Purchase Orders screen.

There is now the ability to allow a user access to multiple branches from a single User ID. The “Branch #” prompt has been removed from the main screen. Instead, you can hit the F9 function key to pop up the “User Branches” feature where you can add or delete branches associated with this User ID.
If a user is associated with multiple branches, when that user logs in to Steel Plus, they will now be presented with a list of those branches. They must choose which branch to make active at that time.
You will see a new option at the bottom of the Main Menu that will allow you to change your active branch.
Selecting this option will allow you to change your active branch.
Several screens have been updated to show the active branch and warehouse.
From Enter Orders/Quotes, if you use the F2 Lookup function for transaction number, you will see that the screen now includes columns for both branch and warehouse numbers.
If you select a transaction that is not in the current active branch or warehouse, you will be prompted to change to that new branch and/or warehouse in order to load the selected transaction.
All references to “Customer Rank” have been changed to “Customer Class” throughout Steel Plus.
The renamed “Customer Class” now appears on the Enter Orders/Quotes main screen.
Inventory Control-> Master Files-> Categories-> Category Maintenance
A new feature has been added to Category Maintenance to allow you to reserve non-standard size material while entering sales transactions.
When this feature is set to “Yes”, when entering a sales transaction line for a non-standard size line, if the order quantity is “PCS” and inventory is available for the specified size, you will be given the opportunity to automatically reserve the available inventory to this sales transaction line, up to either the order quantity of the line or the available inventory quantity.
If there is less available quantity than the order quantity, you will be notified of the available quantity and allowed to reserve it.
If there is less available quantity than order quantity and you choose to reserve it, you will then be asked if you want to reduce the order quantity to match the available quantity.
