Eniteo 13.02.35 sends invoices to your customers by EDI. Invoices for customers set up as EDI trading partners now go out through Foundational from the billing flow, alongside the ASNs and MTRs already sent today. The release also adds columns and a column layout editor to the Warehouse Transfer inventory grid, and delivers fixes across MTR import, receiving, toll processing billing, and warehouse transfers.

Send Invoices by EDI (810)

Invoices can now be delivered to trading partners as EDI 810 documents through EDI through Foundational. Customers who require EDI invoicing receive their invoices in the format their accounts payable systems process automatically, and billing clerks send them from the same billing flow they already use. Invoices join ASNs and MTRs as outbound EDI documents. Each is set up independently, so a customer can receive any one of them or any combination.

Turning it on. Enable Outbound Invoice (810) in Application Control → EDI, under the new Billing group.

Then choose which customers receive invoices by EDI. On the customer’s Batch Processing (F6) tab, check Invoice (810) in the EDI group alongside ASN and MTR. For a complete reference on these settings, see EDI: Configuring EDI in Eniteo.

Sending from billing. When a billing batch includes customers set up for EDI invoices, the Billing – Print Reports? dialog adds EDI Documents (Foundational) with a count of those customers. Confirming opens the EDI Export window, which lists each invoice under its customer name and sends them all with one click. Printing, emailing, and faxing continue for every customer in the batch, so one batch can mix EDI and non-EDI customers.

Reprints and resends. When an invoice for an EDI customer is generated or reprinted outside the billing run, the EDI Export window opens alongside the print preview with that invoice ready to send. Printing, emailing, and faxing from the preview work as usual.

An invoice that has already gone out shows when and by whom it was last sent, with a reminder that resending may give the trading partner a duplicate. It is resent on its own with its Resend button.

What the invoice carries. Each Eniteo invoice is sent as one EDI invoice, including invoices billed by BOL across several orders. It carries the bill-to and ship-to, each line with its customer PO, product, size, grade, weight, price, and tag numbers, along with surcharges, freight, tax, totals, and the payment terms discount percent, discount days, and net due days.

For the full billing workflow, see EDI: Billing — Outbound Invoice (810); for the data carried in each invoice, see EDI: Invoice (810) Data Reference.

Enhancements

  • Customer Contacts: When EDI is enabled, the Customer Contacts screen shows the Address ID of the displayed address. This is the same ID the outbound ASN sends for a ship-to, so it can be provided to Foundational for EDI location mapping. Click the Address ID to copy it.
  • Inbound EDI Queue: The Inbound EDI Queue now accepts multiple ASNs and MTRs from a vendor that share a Bill of Lading, so every line item on a shipment sent across several files can be pre-received. See EDI: Receiving — Inbound ASN (856).
  • Print Preview: Changing a recipient’s Language on the Recipients tab now updates Preview All to that language, along with any printing or exporting done from it.
  • Warehouse Transfers: The Inventory (F5) grid in Warehouse Transfer now shows Weight, soft and hard reserved pieces, Vendor, PO Due Date, Owner, Classification, Mill, and Country of Melt & Pour, matching the values in Inventory Lookup, with soft and hard reserved weight available to add. Right-click the grid to choose which columns appear and in what order, reset the grid to its default layout, or view the reservations on the selected tag.

Bug Fixes

  • EDI MTR Import: Fixed an issue where an MTR arriving with empty tensile or Charpy test entries was rejected for a missing vendor or mill tag. These MTRs now import.
  • Receiving: Fixed an issue where prices showed on the receiving pre-register when Hide Prices on Registers was enabled in Application Control. The pre-register now hides prices, matching the register.
  • Toll Processing: Fixed an issue where the scrap credit on a toll order with more than one process left out part of the scrap weight and was billed on its own invoice. The scrap credit now includes the scrap from every process and appears on the toll processing invoice after its related material line.
  • Toll Processing: Fixed an issue where a toll processing shipment billed twice when the finished material was allocated to the toll sales order at Shipping instead of through the production order. Shipping now creates one material line per master tag.
  • Warehouse Transfer Receiving: Fixed an issue where the Classification of an incoming tag was not displayed in Warehouse Transfer Receiving. The classification now shows in both the summary tag list and the tag detail before the receipt is posted.
  • Warehouse Transfers: Fixed an issue where an unrelated hard reserve on a tag could stop a load of warehouse transfer lines from updating with a Tag Over Allocated message. Warehouse transfer lines are now checked against their own reservations, and the load updates and bills normally.
